JAMB TO DETERMINE CUT OFF MARKS FOR ADMISSION 2015
The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) says it will hold its 2015 Policy meeting on July 14 to determine cut-off marks for admission of candidates into tertiary institutions. The board said it has concluded all arrangements to commence the process of the 2015 admissions. Speaking to journalists Thursday, JAMB’s spokesperson, Benjamin Fabian, said the 2015 Policy Meeting, where the cut-off points for admissions are usually decided at, has been fixed for 14th July, 2015. He said the cut-off point will be chosen after extensive deliberations with Vice-Chancellors of Universities, Provost of Colleges of Education and Rectors of Polytechnics, Monotechnics, Innovative Enterprise Institutions and other stakeholders. Mr. Fabian said the exercise is interesting because of the success witnessed with the first full-blown Computer Based Test. - See more at: http://www.myunndreams.org/2015/07/jamb-cut-off-mark-post-utme-admission.html#sthash.mrgJeTuh.dpuf

UNN CUTOFF MARK FOR 2015 POST UTME
As it stands now, UNN has not announced the JAMB/general cut-off mark. Like I said earlier, I strongly suspect 180.What makes some departments e.g medicine to have high cut-off marks is because of the high number of applicants and their performances. They use the high cut-off marks to 'weed' out many Cut-off marks vary each year. It is dependent on the candidates performance that year. E.g Medicine cut around 305 in 2011 but in 2012 it was around 282. So, don't bank on the cut-off mark you see last year. It might be higher this year. Work hard! Merit is merit. That's the best place your name can appear. Don't listen to those who tell you that you must know a lecturer or be connected to be admitted. Many of us knew no one when we got admitted. Don't rest on your laurels. Having high JAMB score is not a guarantee for admission. You will not be admitted if you happen to score below the general cut-off mark (180 or 200) in your post-UTME despite your high JAMB score. For those with reasonably high JAMB scores, bear in mind that it is very possible that those with lower JAMB scores now can push you out of the merit list if they perform extra-ordinarily well in their UNN post-UTME exam. Will you create room for that? The ball is in your court. For medical aspirants, let me be blunt this time, if you have not read and mastered JAMB past questions from 1978 till date, you are lagging behind. If you solve and fail any question, don't be happy with yourself. Go on hunger-strike, facebooking-strike or chatting-strike till you get it. If I were you, my target will be 400/400. Who said it's not possible? - See more at: http://www.myunndreams.org/2015/04/unn-post-utme-screening-exam-latest-news.html#sthash.HsO9vSaU.dpuf

JAMB ANNOUCES DEADLINE FOR THE CHANGE OF COURSE/INSTITUTION
Some bloggers just copy and paste information that are over 3 - 4 years old forgetting that JAMB and departmental cut-off marks of Institutions are supposed to be a yearly decision of the Institutions. There were years that UNN used 200 as their JAMB cut-off mark but in 2013 and 2014, they came down to 180 (maybe due to the poor performance of 'jambites' in those years). Unizik and a few other Universities also came down to 180 in 2013 and 2014. Interestingly, while that was happening in some schools, FUNAAB increased their cut-off mark from 180 to 200 in 2014. So you see that it is not something that is fixed. No, it's not.
Almost all the Tertiary Institutions in Nigeria release their JAMB cut-off mark (for the year) together with their post-utme registration details and exam date(s). Many have speculated that UNN will still use 180 as they have done in the past 2years. Only time will tell.
For those that scored between 180 and 200 in 2015 UTME and wish to change institution, you can do so, not because you are sure of any school's cut-off mark but because you are not willing to take the risk of retaining your present school of choice. If your heart is telling you not to change your Institution, it's better you follow the promptings of your heart and maybe, just change your course to one that is less competitive to increase your chances of being admitted. I hope this helps.
